the bus trip wasn't too bad, i slept most of the time but we stopped every 2-3 hours which was a bit annoying. and for at least 20-30 minutes each time. their were three drivers and one steward on the bus. we got free sandwiches (which we didn't eat) and offered free water, coffee and tea every hour or so. the service was really really good. we can definitely recommend Metro Tourizm. however i do not recommend sitting in the first seats behind the driver as you get less leg room then everyone else and also the headlights from other cars can get annoying.
we arrived in Goreme at about 9.30am and the tourist information office organised for a car to come and pick us up which was nice.
our hostel is interesting... it's set in a cave which is awesome! our room appears to be half natural cave half rendered concrete. our bathroom is disgusting but the view from our window is spectacular! so you win some you loose some i suppose.
we slept the first few hours we were here. then walked down into the town to get some lunch. we saw a truck full of camels and also a boy playing with some little chicks... one fluorescent pink one green!!!
as we started walking back to the hostel it started raining and not just spitting but torrential rain with thunder and lightening. we ran up the hill but it made no use we were both saturated by the time we got to our room. hopefully my pants dry by tomorrow!!!
tomorrow we are doing an organised tour through our hostel. hopefully it will be good, I'm looking at the board in the reception room right now and it looks like so far only me and Ewen have put our names down for the tour... we have also booked in for a Turkish Night tomorrow night, where they take you to a restaurant and you see different kinds of traditional Turkish dancers and food and drinks are included in the price.
well we're in for a long day tomorrow so I'm off for the night. oh also we plan to hire a scooter the day after tomorrow to do a bit of sightseeing on our own. Ewen assures me he can drive it so fingers crossed :-)
Miss you all, dont forget to keep me updated with whats happening with you!
