Lucerne

A street in Lucerne with the Swiss Alps in the background. We arrived at about 10am and couldnt check in until 4pm so we spent our first day doing a lot of sight seeing around the town.
Our breakfast on the first morning. My fruit plate was the most delicious fruit i have ever tasted!
This is the Kapellbrücke bridge (or Chapel bridge) it is the most famous bridge in Lucerne.
A restaurant, we couldn't afford to eat here (meals were expensive everywhere in Lucerne)
This is the Lion Monument which commemorates the hundreds of Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution

That same bridge again, this time with the bonus shot of me in it too

The parts of the bridge that still shows some fire damage, it was built in 1333 but in 1993 caught on fire and most of the bridge had to be replaced

Below is Ewen enjoying our pizza dinner in front of the river. Take away pizza was pretty much all we could afford
We took the above two photos from the park bench where we had dinner

Below are the supplies for our picnic lunch in Lucerne. I was so excited to find white chocolate maltesers! it was realy nice to sit in the park eating our picnic food (the Swiss army knife & tupperware knife/spoon/fork really came in handy).
Ewen cutting up the bread, this was brown bread which usually i don't like but this stuff was delicious
My first taste of Swiss chocolate
Ewen having some Swiss chocolate

A chocolate tower in one of the many chocolate shops in Lucerne. we saw about 1000 things we wanted to buy to give to everyone but didn't like our chances if it not melting before we get home. they had awesome swiss army knife chocolates, if anyone goes to Lucerne make sure you get one of those!
A little statue opposite our hostel
Ewen making his way to the bus, the yellow box attached to his backpack is a poster we got in Florence, when we tried to post it home from Lucerne it was going to cost 10 times what we paid for the poster just to mail it home so we are stuck with it now! the list of souviners we have brought and have to now cart around with us is expanding!
the only Swiss watch we could afford
