THIRD TRIP TO PARIS - DAY 3

Today was Eiffel tower day! Finally! We had pre-booked our tickets online so after a mad dash from the metro stop we were lined up at 9.20am in our special persons line. It was incredible going up in the lifts (yep we were lazy and took the lifts rather than the stairs) and looking down below you as you got higher and higher. you get one lift to about half way up and then get into a much smaller lift that takes you right to the top of the tower. we spent quite a while taking photos and admiring the views. we were lucky that we were in the first group of people to go up so we had plenty of room to spread out and look through the fences and take photos. as we were heading back down there were hundreds of people at the top and you had to fight through the crowds just to move around. I would definitely recommend going to 9.30am when the tower opens.
We spent the rest of the day shopping on Champ Elysees and then we walked along the river stopping at some of the little green stalls to buy random Parisian souvenirs. We also got some delicious macaroons from a shop on Champ Elysees. they were super expensive but definitely worth it. they came in a fancy little box that was then put into a fancy little bag. The store was call Laduree and i want everyone to go to this website http://www.laduree.fr/public_en/maisons/champs_accueil.htm so that you can see how fancy it all was.

The Arch de Triomphe and the crazy roundabout that surrounds it. i read on wikipedia on that half of the worlds roundabouts are in France but that sounds pretty far fetched to me
