Tours

The first thing we learnt about Tours is that the S is silent. Saying 'Tour' sounded silly in most contexts so we continued to call the place tours with the s. Tours is known as the mini Paris, it has lots of cafe lined streets and several green gardens.
We really enjoyed out time in Tours, we stayed in hotel which was nice and clean and we had a comfy bed and a woman who cleaned our room and made our bed which was a big change from the hostels we usually stayed in. We spent most of our time wandering the beautiful streets of Tours, looking in the boutique shops and eating meringues. Ewen also managed to find a couple of board game shops and we found a giant silver monster statue that seemed a little out of place in the quaint town of Tours.
Our last day in Tours we were getting picked up by Busabout at 4.30pm. after checking out of the hotel we walked around had some lunch and then ended up sitting in a park reading for most of the afternoon. The park we were sitting in had about 8 of these little white cubby houses that played music/talked to you when you approached them and had strange displays in the windows. One had rocking horses, another had ballerinas and another had snowmen. cant remember what was in the rest of them. the park also had speakers hanging from trees and had music constantly playing (the same song over and over and over again). By about 2pm we were ready to leave; we were freezing cold and the music was driving us insane. we ended up going back to the hotel and luckily they let us sit in the breakfast room until our bus came.
After we left Tours i found out about a museum called Musee du Compagnonnage which has on display a 19th century door lock which is designed to shoot you if you don't unlock it properly, that might come in handy when living in Eaglehawk He He

A random street in Tours

A very literal house boat
The Tours Cathedral
Ewen testing the strength of a hedge, he had a bit of an obsession with hedges while we were in France.
Awesome medieval half wooden buildings

A big monster statue, the locals don't seem to like this and i can see why. it really doesn't fit in with the rest of the Tours vibe
I had two meringues while we were in Tours and (believe it or not) this was the smaller of the two

A cool castle house
