Tower of London & our very first musical in London

The Tower of London which used to be the Royal Palace and also a prison. The highlight for me was getting to see the Crown Jewels. They have a room full of various crowns, rings, brooches and even some clothing on display. you hop on a moving walkway and it rolls you past the displays. between all of the jewels there are 23,578 gems which includes the Imperial State Crown (which was incredible) which alone has over 2800 diamonds, 273 pearls, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds and 5 rubies. for some reason they don't let you try any of them on, instead you have to settle for trying on an old helmet in a different section of the tower, how boring! Another interesting thing about the Tower of London is that they have 7 ravens living there. Legend has it that if the 6 ravens (these days they keep one spare) ever left the tower the kingdom would fall. There is even a full time 'Raven-master' working at the tower and he has two apprentices, their sole job is keep the ravens happy enough to stick around the tower (although their job is made a little easier by the ravens each having one wing clipped).

What happened seconds after i accidentally dropped my lunch on the ground
After seeing the Tower of London and having lunch we headed to Leicester square to get tickets to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Once we had secured our tickets we walked over to Covent Garden to watch the street performers and have a wander around the market and shops.
The musical was fantastic, the costumes were amazing and the crowd really got into the songs (the songs were all awesome i am definitely buying the Priscilla soundtrack). We both really enjoyed it and are hoping to go and see another musical before heading back to Australia. The best part (for everyone there except us) was that Alf from Home and Away makes an appearance as a mechanic who falls in love with one of the drag queens. the crowd went crazy and two girls sitting next to me were screaming at the top of their lungs "We love you Alf" and jumping up and down it was hilarious. He got a better response than anyone else when it came time for their bows at the end of the show too. It would have been much better if Alf got up in drag too but sadly we had to settle for seeing him in normal clothes and then in a kangaroo costume (not too sure why he was in a kangaroo costume).
